How to care for a corset

How to care for a corset

We want to ensure your beautiful corset lasts a lifetime, read on to find our useful tips and tricks to keep your Vollers corset in pristine condition.

  • When wearing your corset for lng periods of time we recommend wearing a thin layer underneath, to stop skin cells and sweat etc damaging the corset and this will stop the need to clean the corset regularly.
  • After wearing your corset it is important to allow the corset to breathe and air out, so that the fibres of your corset can relax back into shape.
  • If you are wearing your corset for long periods of time to (waist train/ performance) wipe the inside layer of your corset down with a warm damp cloth to remove any surface dirt. Then allow your corset to fully dry before storing the corset away in your complimentary dust bag.
  • Storing your corset in the dust bag provided within your order and placing the corset in a cool dry dark place, to ensure the delicate fabric stays beautiful for longer. Do not hang your corset as this could distort your steel boning. Store the item flat.
  • Do not wash your corset in a washing machine, as this could cause misshaping, damage, or ruin the delicate fabrics.
  • If your corset needs a thorough clean you can take it to a dry cleaners but we do recommend using one that has experience cleaning corsets.

If you have any small wear and tears in your corset for example a strap that has come undone please visit our lifetime guarantee page and we can see if your corset can be repaired by our team of highly skilled corsetieres.
